2025 Kenyan Trials Recap: Reynold Cheruiyot wins a 1500 thriller, Beatrice Chebet is beaten (but doesn’t mind), & 2:13 wins the women’s 800

A wacky Kenyan Trials were held this morning in front of a sparse crowd, not a surprise since it was held on Tuesday morning with little advanced notice. Have you ever seen an elite women’s 800 go out in 75? Well, that happened. In the race of the day, Reynold Cheruiyot nipped Timothy Cheruiyot at the line to win the 1500. Plus NCAA stars Brigid Kogsei and Brian Musau won’t be going to Worlds but for different reasons. NCAA record holder Doris Lemngole even though she was tronced in the steeple.
