Ruth Chepngetich’s ban is upped to three years from two, but she gets to keep her marathon world record (for now)

The AIU officially announced that marathon world record holder Ruth Chepngetich has been banned for three years, one more year than what she was initially facing for testing positive for a diuretic. But it’s also possible she gets banned for previous offenses that would invalidate the world record due to incriminating messages on her cell phone.
